In conjunction with the celebration of Hip-Hop’s landmark 50th anniversary, legendary rapper Saigon and and Swedish multi-platinum producer Fredro have joined forces to create a love letter to Hip-Hop. Specifically, 1986-1996, a/k/a The Jordan Era. They have also tapped many other legendary voices to help join their celebration.
Saigon and Fredro’s new album, The Jordan Era, is produced in its entirety by Fredro, and features guest appearances from legends Grandmaster Caz, Pete Rock, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Grand Puba, Sadat X, Ruckness Monsta, Craig G, and Al Skratch.
“I did this album because I loved the energy of 2023, with the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, the celebrations, and I didn’t want it to stop there” Saigon proclaimed. “Watching the foundation of this culture get their flowers was a beautiful thing. I wanted to show my personal appreciation by creating a project that had most of my influences and personal heroes on it.”
“Doing The Jordan Era album with Saigon and all of these legends has been such a dope and inspirational journey. It’s like the album I dreamt of doing as a teenager back in the day” Fredro adds. “To be able to drop this project on such a legendary hip-hop label as Payday Records, just makes it even more real and authentic. This album was made by and for all people celebrating the golden era of Hip-Hop and its trailblazers.” – Spitfire Hiphop
