Space Dimension Controller has done a mighty fine job of finding an individual voice in the field of 80s synth-pop informed house music, not least thanks to the pure emotion he pours into his music. Neuclidea finds him landing for the first time on Running Back with another swathe of gorgeous, sophisticated cuts. There’s a nuanced quirk to the synth design on the title track, while ‘Life Window’ plays around with nimble arps in pursuit of a big track with brains to match. ‘Sunset Operator’ has a slightly more jacking demeanour in its drums, but SDC can’t help but make things achingly beautiful in the process.
