180 gram black vinyl collection of Vangelis’ best loved works. Vangelis is the pseudonym of Evanghelos Odysseas Papathanasiou. This Greek composer, musician and multi-instrumentalist often uses synthesizer, piano, keyboards and other electronic instruments. In the late 1960s he formed the group Aphrodite’s Child with Demis Roussos, among others. After the breakup of this group, he started a solo career where he initially made a lot of music for French films such as “La Petite Fille de la Mer” for the film L’Apocalypse Des Animaux. But his international success came after the release of the album “Spiral” in 1977 with the 9 minute long “To The Unknown Man”. Followed by his participation in the popular 1980 Carl Sagan TV series “Cosmos” which featured the third installment of 1975’s “Heaven And Hell” as the theme.
