It has been said before that Keith Kenniff is a busy man, but you wouldn’t think it to hear this album. Or at least he seems unaffected by that busyness, managing to retain an un-rushed, thoughtful grace throughout this minimalistic piano stunner. Originally recorded in 2005, at a time when many people were still in awe of his work as Helios, and output on the Merck label, ‘Corduroy Road’ defied many expectations we might have had based on those other points of references, and confirmed the man in question as a real musical tour de force to be reckoned with. Quiet, calm listening perfection that defines the phrase ‘ivory tinkling’, it’s guaranteed to stop you dead in your tracks and leave a lasting impression once the final notes fade from earshot. – Juno
