Kangding Ray is one of those techno craftsmen who really brings his groves alive with sublime sound designs and plenty of synth magic. And Spazio Disponible, the label run by Neel and Donato Dozzy, is one of the most cultured around, so this is a real match made in heaven. The EP opens up with ‘Four Interwined Spirals’ which is a colourful and psychedelic cut that will melt minds. ‘Asymmetic Lifeform’ is a more quiet and slow-motion exploration of dubby rhythm and aqueous synths, then ‘Polar’ picks up the pace once more with trippy synth and sci-fi arps over sleek drums. ‘Solid State Rain’ shuts down with another melancholic atmosphere.
